5 Socially Distanced Date Ideas During COVID

If you’re anything like the rest of us, you’re probably experiencing Pandemic Fatigue, and you’re wondering when life will get back to normal for you. We totally get it. Whether you are single, and dating has been super challenging, or you’re in a relationship and needs to be able to have those date nights to keep the fun and spice in your relationship, here are 5 date ideas that allow you to enjoy each other in a safe way.

  1. Virtual movie night: If you can’t be in the same place at the same time, you can both log on to any video calling app and watch a video together virtually. Whether you watch a comedy, a drama, an adventure movie, or one of my personal favorite Marvel movies, you can enjoy them together in a virtual way. You can both still chat and laugh together.
  2. Take a class together: There are so many different classes and workshops online now that it’s not hard to find something to peak your interest. You and your partner can work together taking a class and aside from learning a new skill, be able to exercise teamwork and communication.
  3. Have a private book club: We all know books can take you away to magical lands. When you and your partner can read a book together and compare and contrast thoughts on it, it makes the experience so much more flavorful. After all, the way you interpret may be different from your partner’s way of interpreting, and that in itself is good to know.
  4. Game night: There are tons of games out there for you and your partner to enjoy. Some types of games that be done both virtually and in person are the card question games. These are excellent ways to ask questions that you may not have thought of prior. It’s also a wonderful way to learn about your partner. Sometimes these games have questions we’ve never considered to ask, and other times, they remind us how well we may know our partners.
  5. Couples VS battle: Last but not least, most of us love music. A really fun way to enjoy music with each other is to alternate choosing songs and singing karaoke along to them. It’s not how good (or bad) of a singer you are, but it’s about having fun and letting loose. Your partner will enjoy watching you have fun whether it’s virtually or in person.

While we all understand and feel how exhausting it is to try and stay safe during this pandemic, we also have to remember that we can’t live in fear, and we have to be able to enjoy the precious moments of our lives too. These are just a few ideas to get you started adding some fun and spice back into your life during this Covid time.
