HTMA Testing.
A non-invasive, at-home test that reveals your mineral balance, heavy metal burden, and the metabolic patterns your body has been carrying for the past three to four months.
Maybe your bloodwork keeps coming back fine — but your hair is breaking, your nails are weak, your energy disappears by 2 p.m. Maybe you've taken magnesium for years and still cramp at night. Maybe your anxiety doesn't match your life.
Your minerals tell a different story than your bloodwork. HTMA is how we read it.
What HTMA actually is.
Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis is a simple, painless test that measures the essential minerals and toxic metals stored in your hair tissue. Where bloodwork captures a single moment of what's circulating right now, HTMA reflects three to four months of mineral activity at the cellular level — the long-term picture, not the snapshot.
Minerals are the spark plugs of your metabolism. They drive nearly every enzymatic reaction in your body — energy production, detoxification, hormone balance, stress response, sleep, immune function. When minerals are imbalanced, symptoms follow: the fatigue you can't shake, the anxiety that has no obvious cause, the brain fog, the sleep issues, the hormonal disruption, the immune system that won't quite hold.
HTMA gives me a practitioner's-eye view into your mineral status and metabolic patterns, so we can build a protocol that addresses the root, not the symptom you came in with.
What HTMA can reveal.
A window into the biochemical patterns that drive how you feel every day — the ones standard labs can't see.
Mineral Deficiencies
Low magnesium, zinc, potassium, or other essential minerals — the depletions that drive fatigue, poor sleep, and mood instability long before bloodwork catches up.
Heavy Metal Burden
The long-term accumulation of lead, mercury, cadmium, aluminum, and arsenic stored in your tissues — the body load most providers never test for.
Adrenal & Stress Patterns
How your body has actually been carrying stress — whether you're in burnout, exhaustion, or that high-alert "tired but wired" pattern so many women know.
Metabolic Type
Whether you're a fast, slow, or mixed oxidizer — which changes everything about how your body processes food, builds energy, and responds to protocols.
Thyroid Function
Hidden thyroid imbalances that standard thyroid panels miss entirely — read through mineral ratios that tell the truer story of how your thyroid is working.
Copper Imbalance
One of the most common — and most overlooked — root causes of anxiety, racing thoughts, PMS, fatigue, and mood swings. Especially in women on birth control or with copper IUDs.
What's actually tested.
More than 20 elements measured in your tissue from the past three to four months — minerals, toxic metals, and the ratios that read between them.

HTMA pairs beautifully with the rest of your healing.
HTMA works alongside the other services in my practice — especially for women navigating gut health, chronic fatigue, hormone imbalance, perimenopause, or trauma recovery. Whether you're new to functional testing or already have lab work in hand, mineral analysis adds a crucial layer of insight the others can't.
HTMA questions, answered honestly.
How is HTMA different from a blood test?
Blood tests reveal what's circulating in your blood at this moment. HTMA reveals what's stored in your tissues over the past 3–4 months. The two answer different questions and work best together — bloodwork for acute medical diagnostics, HTMA for long-term nutritional patterns and mineral status. One isn't replacing the other; it's adding the chapter your bloodwork doesn't read.
Is HTMA painful or invasive?
Not at all. You simply cut a small hair sample from the back of your head (about a tablespoon's worth, from the hair closest to your scalp). The full collection takes about 2 minutes. No needles, no clinic visits, no blood draws, no fasting.
Can I still do HTMA if my hair is dyed, treated, or short?
Yes. For colored or chemically-treated hair, wait at least 4–6 weeks after treatment before testing for the most accurate results. If your scalp hair is too short, body hair (underarm, chest, or pubic) can be used. Avoid medicated shampoos like Head & Shoulders, Selsun Blue, or Grecian Formula for 2 weeks before collection.
Who is HTMA ideal for?
HTMA is especially helpful for women dealing with chronic fatigue, anxiety, sleep issues, hormonal imbalance, perimenopause symptoms, digestive struggles, thyroid concerns, unexplained weight changes, or heavy metal exposure concerns. It's also valuable as a baseline for anyone who simply wants a true long-term picture of their mineral status.
How often should I retest?
Most clients retest every 3–6 months to track progress and adjust their protocol as the patterns shift. Mineral balance is a moving picture, and retesting lets us see what's actually working and refine the approach — not just guess.
Is this a medical diagnosis?
No. HTMA is a screening and educational tool — not a medical diagnostic test. It provides valuable insights into mineral and metabolic patterns, but it isn't used to diagnose disease. All findings are reviewed in the context of your overall symptoms, history, and goals — and if anything in your results requires a physician's attention, I'll tell you directly.
